About the session
AI is set to transform scholarly publishing, from the way scholars conduct research throughout the publishing workflow and supply chain. For scholarly book publishers, in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, AI presents distinct challenges and opportunities. In this panel we will discuss the ethical and practical implications of AI in the arts, humanities and social sciences from the perspective of a researcher, digital librarian, and publisher. The panelists will present case studies to illustrate the ways they are each using AI to enhance and enrich metadata and improve data discoverability, and will also highlight the distinct operational opportunities and challenges that exist for book publishers. In this panel, we invite industry experts to share their thoughts on where we are now and what the future might hold.
Mixed-learning: Includes both applied and strategic perspectives on an issue; appropriate for those with at least some experience of the subject area seeking a mix of immediate/practical and future/planning information.
